There are plenty of bands out there, but very few made up of real musicians. This is why the Lobby Lounge at Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers is especially proud to announce the arrival of “Red Shoes" , a talented foursome from the "Land Down Under".
Made up of graduates of Australia's most prestigious music schools, Red Shoes will amaze you with their amazing skill and versatility. The lineup consists of vocalist Verity Guthrie and guitarist Kim Murray , both with degrees from the internationally acclaimed Western Australian Conservatorium of Music, drummer Chris Oldman, a graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts , and bassist Desmond White, who holds a bachelor's degree in Music from Edith Cowan University.
Red Shoes have wowed audiences in 3 continents. Their repertoire is a sophisticated blend of jazz, blues, Latin, pop, rock, R&B and includes favorites like The Girl From Ipanima, You Don't Know Me, It Had to Be You, Dance With Me, I Love the Nightlife, Just the Two of Us, and More Than Words.
Drop by the Lobby Lounge to catch the red-hot Red Shoes band — you won't believe your ears! Red Shoes perform nightly except Sunday at the Lobby Lounge , 9 pm-midnight Monday-Thursday and 9:30 pm-1 am Friday-Saturday. The Koh Samui Music Festival has come a long way in the past 2 years. The inaugural event, held only days after 2004's tragic Boxing Day tsunami, was a series of intimate, low key evenings that showed the power of music, especially the blues, to heal. The human warmth generated from December's Blues and World Music Festival made a follow-up event inevitable.

Koh Samui Music Festival 2006 is 10 days of live blues, jazz, reggae, ska, rock, pop, Thai indie, mor lam and luk thung at the Coco Blues in Chaweng Beach, the hottest spot on Koh Samui.

2nd Annual Phuket International Blues Festival scheduled for February 16-17, 2007 at the Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort and Spa

Not gambling on the December weather again, the festival will from now on be held the 3rd weekend in February, when we are as guaranteed good weather as we can be in Phuket.

Confirmed so far are The Groove Doctors, The Blues Machine and Soi Dog Blues Band as well as the highly acclaimed Rich Harper Blues Band from Los Angeles which will once again headline the festival.
