Thailand's Top Jazz Artist, Koh Saxman at The Living Room
Bangkok, August 11, 2008 . Last year, Thailand 's very own jazz sensation, saxophonist Koh Mr. Saxman played to a packed house at The Living Room of The Luxury Collection, Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. Due to popular demand, the homegrown sax sensation is back!
Koh Mr. Saxman, or Sakepol Oonsamran as he is also known, is widely regarded as Thailand 's foremost jazz musician; a top saxophonist who has done much to popularize the jazz genre in the country. A naturally gifted musician, as a youngster Koh Mr. Saxman studied the flute before moving on to the sax and has played it professionally since he was just 15 years old.
In 2002, he released his first album under the name of Mr. Saxman. The moniker stuck and the album not only established his reputation as a major musical force in Thailand but also gained him recognition on the international jazz scene.
Koh Mr. Saxman is the recipient of numerous awards and has worked with Thailand 's top acts, including the Infinity Band and Boy Thai. He has also been invited to perform his inspirational sax solos alongside Thai artists and superstars such
as Bird Thongchai, Jennifer Kim and Asanee Lae Wasan.
His approachable style of jazz continues to lure newcomers to the genre as well as delight diehard jazz fans. For evening sessions of top class sax playing and breathtaking solos, do not miss! Bangkok , August 7, 2008 . Singapore's renowned jazz drummer, Tama Goh takes to the stage at The Living Room of The Luxury Collection, Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit this September !
A much sought after session drummer on the international circuit, Tama's appearance at The Living Room is another coup for Bangkok 's premier jazz venue.
Tama has been a member of Jeremy Monteiro International Trio since 1989. He has also played with big name jazz acts such as James Moody, Chick Corea's saxophonist Eric Mariental, Ernie Watts , Terumasa Hino , and Alice Day .
In 2005, Tama Goh was awarded the Compass Artistic Excellence Award for his outstanding artistic contribution to Singapore . He also leads the Ethnicity Folk & Jazz Ensemble, a group of gifted instrumentalists blending jazz and Asian cultural music.
During his residency at The Living Room, Tama Goh will be supported by Taurey Butler on piano and Donald Jackson on bass from September 2 nd – 14 th , Tuesday-Thursday from 21.00 – 23.45 hours, Friday-Saturday from 21.30 – 00.15 hours and Sunday Jazzy Brunch at 12.00 – 14.45 hours.
