The Overtone Music Cave is a new addition to the ever popular RCA in
Bangkok's Ratchada district. This up and coming music bar is owned by
Prart Music Group a multi faceted company that have many interests
music including a music school and a record company. With that pedigree
it hardly surprising that the musically minded hang out here.
Overtone is open from Wednesday to Sunday and in that period provides an
array of music from Rock & Blues to Jazz, Funk, Fusion. Sunday is an
open night encouraging a mixture of both young and old artists to jam
the with best this for music lovers Sunday at Overtone's is great place
to witness raw talent.
The layout of the bar is simple yet comfortable and suits its purpose.
The bar is a large double heighted room with a masonry balcony looking
down onto the stage and is easily accessed by funky spiral staircase
located by the bar. Upstairs provides a great view of the band and is
also home to a decent pool table to keep the so-minded occupied during
the bands intervals.

Downstairs on the ground floor the layout is much the same, all of the
tables have a good view of the stage and are frequently visited by one
of the friendly staff. Located at the back of the room there is the bar
that is stocked with a good selection of drinks and at reasonable prices.
On Friday the 21st of September the ever popular Bangkok favourite KOH
Saxman was playing with his band. They produced a mixture of Funk and
Fusion Jazz with a hint of Latin influence.. These talented musicians
carried out a both great and memorable performance and judging on the
quality of the music and the response from the audience it won't be long
before we see them on stage again.
For all music enthusiasts out there who want to see live music at its
best the Overtone Music Cave is the place to be. Generally speaking the
audience is mainly local but foreigners are very welcome
